In default mode the SharePoint PeoplePicker shows all users from the trusted domains. In some cases it is necessary to filter the users (e.g. only showing users from one domain in a specific web application).

SharePoint Calculated Column: Show only time of a date field

SharePoint calculated columns use Microsoft Excel syntax. Therefore you can combine multiple field values to create a special value. Using this technique you can make a „time field“ out of a date field.

SharePoint CSOM: Update author in community site template discussions list

The SharePoint community site template has a lot of special and usefull lists and functions. This also leads to some problems you won’t have in other site templates.

For example the „Created By“ and „Modified By“ Columns can not be updated using the SharePoint Client API (CSOM). Normally a user having site collection administrator permission can update these fields. But not in this case…
